Did some scissor practice on my mothers dog, Sadie, this evening. I really wanted to take her down with a #4F clipper with #1 comb but for some reason my guard combs won’t clip on to my clipper blades. Sadie hasn’t had a proper groom since the beginning of March, so I used her fluff as a landscape for practicing scissor work. I attempted to even out her bottom jaw line, bulk thinned hair under her ears and side of her face and trimmed the tips off her ears. I also clipped her pads and rounded her feet, did a sanitary, and took the tips off her tail.

I don’t think I did a terrible job as a first unaided practice before my supervised internship, but I’ll feel a lot better knowing I have an expert help guide me as I learn what the hell I’m doing.
